Oğuz Tanrıdağ
Prof. Dr. Oğuz Tanrıdağ currently holds positions as a neurology specialist at Üsküdar University NP İstanbul Hospital, Head of the Neuroscience Department at the same university, faculty member at the Speech and Language Therapy School, and a member of the Ethics Committee.
He was born in Ankara in 1951. He graduated from Pertevniyal High School in 1969. He graduated from Istanbul Faculty of Medicine in 1975. Between 1976-1979, he served as a flight surgeon at the 3rd Main Jet Base (Konya) and the 4th Main Jet Base (Ankara) under the Turkish Air Force. Between 1979-1982, he completed his Neurology Specialization training at GATA Neurology Department. Between 1982-1984, he worked as a Neurology Specialist at Etimesgut Air Hospital. Between 1984-1986, he trained as a Clinical Researcher at Vanderbilt University in the USA. He became an Assistant Professor in 1987, an Associate Professor in 1988, and a Professor in 1993. In 1989, he was awarded the TÜBİTAK Incentive Award. Between 2003-2008, he served as the editor of the Turkish Journal of Neurology.
His published books include Aphasia (1991), Behavioral Neurology in Theory and Practice (1994), Art and Neurology (co-editor-2006), Dementia Syndrome in Geriatric Practice (co-editor-2009), Introduction to Basic Brain Knowledge and Neurobehavioral Syndromes (2014), Lectures and Lessons on Brain-Behavior Relationships (2015), and Behavioral Neurology (editor-2016). "The Child's Brain and Neurodevelopmental Problems" and "Lectures and Lessons on Brain-Behavior Relationships - 2nd Edition" are in press.
