Yıldız Burkovik

Born in Istanbul in 1962. Graduated from Istanbul University Faculty of Literature, Department of Psychology in 1984 and received training in psychological tests at the Psychology Laboratory of Çapa Faculty of Medicine between 1985-1988. She worked at the Psychiatry Clinic of GATA Haydarpaşa Training Hospital for ten years from 1988 onwards. She received her “Psychodrama Therapist Certificate” by submitting her thesis at the Moreno Institute in Überlingen, Germany. In 2000, she completed her master's program at I.Ü. Institute of Forensic Medicine. She worked as the Head of the Clinical Psychology Unit at Memory Center from 1998 onwards and has been serving as the “General Coordinator of Psychotherapy Services” at NPİstanbul Hospital since 2012. She gives Group Psychotherapies course practically to master's students of Üsküdar University, Department of Clinical Psychology, under the presidency of Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan. She hosted the TV program called "Psikoyorum" for five years. In addition to Social Phobia, she has books titled Kaygılanacak Ne Var! and Korkacak Ne Var!, which she wrote together with Psychiatry Specialist Dr. Oğuz Tan.
