Cumhur Taş
Prof. Dr. Cumhur Taş was born in Ankara in 1981. He completed his primary, middle, and high school education in İzmir and is a graduate of İzmir Şemikler High School.
After high school, he completed his medical education at Adnan Menderes University Faculty of Medicine between 1999-2005, and his specialization in psychiatry at Celal Bayar University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry between 2006-2011. His thesis for specialization examined the effectiveness of an application called social cognition and interaction therapy for the rehabilitation of schizophrenia patients. Between 2008-2011, Cumhur Taş worked as a clinical researcher at the Institute of Psychiatry, King's College London, UK. For 8 months of his tenure in London, he worked on computer-assisted cognitive remediation applications in schizophrenia and is the only internationally certified practitioner in this field. During his final year of psychiatric residency, he worked as a research assistant in the Department of Neuropsychiatry at Ruhr University in Germany and completed the International Graduate School of Neuroscience (IGSN) Doctoral Program at the same university with summa cum laude honors, earning the title of Doctor of Neuroscience. His doctoral work involved completing his thesis titled Understanding Social Functioning in Schizophrenia. He has research articles (SCI/SCI-E/AHCI) published in reputable journals indexed in international databases, 3 book chapters on metabalism, oxytocin, and neuroimaging in schizophrenia, as well as numerous presented and published conference papers and abstracts.
His areas of interest include neuroimaging, social cognition, decision-making behavior, neuroeconomics, and schizophrenia.
