Science of Happiness
The Science of Happiness is a scientific endeavor that aims to contribute to our declining mental health in this era of pleasure and speed that humanity is experiencing. The goal is "happiness" on the human journey to eternity, and the method is scientific methodology.
The Science of Happiness first suggests self-discovery, in other words, performing a 'SWOT analysis' on oneself. That is, it shows us ways to achieve psychological resilience by choosing and strengthening our 'Strengths and Weaknesses', 'Opportunities', and 'Threats'. Theoretically, our weaknesses are naturally corrected when our 'psychological immune system' is strengthened.
In fact, this methodology can also be defined as the scientific presentation of value-based education. Sharing, gratitude, altruism, i.e., empathy, forgiveness, anger management, stress management, intrinsic and extrinsic motivation, the search for meaning, etc., are taught through psychodramas and/or short games.
In developed countries, we can see these courses taught without exception in primary schools, high schools, and universities, sometimes as electives and sometimes as mandatory, and their implementation is supported as social policy. Our children also need 'mindfulness' training, in line with our own high values. When you examine the book, you will see that this education is a restructuring of our national culture and Anatolian wisdom within a scientific concept. When we think with the awareness that we need to modernize while preserving our culture and that 'we cannot be universal without being local', it would be appropriate to remember that the roots of this branch of science lie in Anatolia.
The work has been prepared in accordance with MEB standards within the framework of supplementary textbook rules. The study consists of 19 units authored by twenty-two psychology professionals.
The preparation of the book took five years. It is completely original. The applications have been produced in a way suitable for early adolescence and adolescence.
Primarily, by thinking that it will facilitate the work of our Psychological Counselors and Guidance Teachers, being able to touch future generations will be our greatest honor and gain.
