Psychology of Values and Humans

Courage, loyalty, forgiveness, sharing, generosity, humility, self-criticism, justice, and others…

These common concepts, accepted by society as a whole, are in a sense a set of standards for happiness.

If we liken values to a bank account, the person who makes good investments will see a profit from their account. Although it may not be immediately apparent how much profit they have made, it will be a savings that they will benefit from in their later years. A person who invests in nature or their family should know that these investments will return to them.

Looking at today's social structure, values are now just words used in sentences. However, all the evils that change societies by overshadowing values are like worms hidden in trees. Just as worms gnaw at a tree from the inside and bring it down, social decay and lawlessness rot society in the same way.

Prof. Dr. Nevzat Tarhan calls on us to take a step towards re-establishing the values, which are the spiritual dynamics of society, in our lives, and states that values education should start with individuals and spread to society.
