Interdisciplinary Approaches in Occupational Therapy
Interdisciplinary approaches in occupational therapy enable individuals to be independent in their daily life activities, adapt to their environment, develop their existing capacities, participate in social life and activities, improve communication and interaction skills, and respond quickly and effectively to their needs and desires. These possibilities are provided by the common role of each expert and by experts integrating their discipline's perspective into occupational therapy while maintaining their roles within their own disciplines. Although the goals are common, treatment or intervention programs carried out with different methodologies gained from different disciplines lead to a certain coordination and more positive outcomes.
